Ferry timetable delays court curfew 27/6/08
A sheriff could not commence a curfew on a North Uist accused man because of a ferry timetable.
Iain Macinnes of 15 Baymore, Grimsay, Uist, was released on bail on a theft allegation from Stornoway Sheriff Court today (Fri) provided he obeyed an order to stay at home from 7pm daily.
But there was no way he could get home in time for the curfew last night so the sheriff postponed the order until tomorrow (Sat).
The 59-year-old appeared from custody to deny that he broke into a house and stole £ 1000.
It is alleged that he forced open a locked safe in 5 Church Road, Berneray and took the cash on June 10th while he was under a bail order imposed at Lochmaddy Sheriff Court in April.
