Drunk while driving tractor 30/6/08
A South Uist man was caught drunk driving on a tractor while disqualified.
Roderick Joseph Walker appeared from custody at Stornoway Sheriff Court on Monday.
The 39-year-old of 381 Garrynamoine admitted two charges.
He pleaded guilty to driving a tractor on Sunday on a road at West Kilbride while being banned from holding a licence. Walker also admitted being 2.5 times the drink driving limit.
The court heard that police officers spotted the accused driving and knew he had been banned. they topped him and smelt alcohol from him.
Honorary sheriff Iain Macleod allowed bail but warned Walker that he faced imprisonment if he breached the conditions. He imposed a nightly 12-hour curfew which keeps Walker indoors from 7 pm.
