Satellite warranty scam warning 24/7/08
Comhairle nan Eilean Siar’s Trading Standards Officers are advising consumers to be wary of cold callers who claim that the consumer requires to take out Satellite Warranty as their previous supplier is going out of business.
A spokeperson said 'we are aware of consumers who have given out their bank account details and have subsequently had money withdrawn by an unknown source with no paperwork or contact details.’
